These are pictures of the garden varieties; I have no access to the rare kinds treasured by hibiscus collectors. Still the hibiscus has the charm of all tropical (exotic) flowers.
@Bk94541 they are really tropical flowers thats why winter is not good for them and they love sunshine and rain thats it! i live in trindad in the caribbean and they grow like crazy here and its one of our national flowers!
I live in north/cali, i planted about 25 of them deferent colors all the way up and down my drive way on march last year 2010.. such as grew about couple feet and blooms like crazy all the way till NOV.. But after winter pass by in here don’t get under 39 only some few nights most is like in 40s ..Anyway 5 of them died have to replace them this year such as sux is great flower but is pain in the ass if goes throw the winter
@garden4joan Now in Spring time, the insects are attacking them in the young leaves. I have to wash them with warm water for the isects to go out, there was a time that I had to spray the plant because these insects (aphides), were too many. These same insects are attacking the rose plants too.
These Hibiscus blooms are breath taking, and the presentation is awesome. As I watch the video, it brought back memories of my native island. Thanks for sharing.

I just placed some Syriacus Blue Bird in the jars and wait for them to root, after they root I will plant them. :-)
