MY FATHER WAS A L W A Y S A GOOD FIGHTER... LIKE US EVERYONE HAD ISSUES THEY GO THROUGH, LIFE JUST GETS IN THE WAY! YOU CANT SIT THERE AND SAY U HAVE NEVER HAD A BAD DAY. FOR ALL OF YOU THAT TRY AND TALK MESS U TRY TRAINING, TAKING CARE OF 2 DAUGHTERS, TENDING TO YOUR WIFE, TRAINING SOME MORE, GET UR KIDS READY FOR SCHOOL, TRAIN SOME MORE. IT WEARS YOU DOWN!! MY DAD MADE HIS MARK IN THE BOXING WORLD... THATS A FACT!
I don't know if Greg was big enough to beat the Klitschkos, but if he were around today, those are the only 2 guys who'd have a chance in hell of beating him.
oki have one thing to say all you so called fight experts that think they know about my brother can drop the hate yes he had bad fights and had demons to deal with but dont come on here bad talkin him sayin he smoked weed an partied to much wich was total bull.....if you dont know dont assume.if any of you guys could do better then wat he has done ,why havent anyone that has read this crap heard of you in the boxing ring
@pug1365 The Page that fought after the Tubbs loss, was no longer a good fighter.I remember him saying that he went to the ring with a 357 wanting to kill Don King, but he thought better of it.His defense could've been better, though.Another thing that ruined Gerry Cooney was not fighting the type of fighters that he would probably meet at the top.Lyle and Norton were far from what they were, and Young was a couple of years off of what he was, yet still gave Gerry problems.
Page was a good fighter, but he lacked a defence, I was a ringside when Buster Douglas hit him with every thing but the kitchen sink, the punches he took was tough to watch, he was an hot-cold fighter, never know which one would show up, Dokes was like Greg took a lot of punches, but had the fastest hands in the hwy division. What ruined Cooney was sitting out 13 months waiting on the Holmes fight.
It's a known fact that Greg didn't truly have a love for the sport of boxing, he loved basketball. And when you don't have a love for what you do, you're affected in some sort of way, shape, or form.
One of Page's best wins, along with the KO over Coetzee. Monroe had run up a string of wins and this was supposed to be a close fight, but Greg just whipped him. Just a shame that Greg couldn't always be this motivated. RIP Greg.
Too bad Page couldn't have remained in this kind of shape for the remainder of his career. He had such great natural talent. Maybe it all came too easy for him. R.I.P. Greg Page.

Greg Page was a helluva fighter. It was sad the way his life ended, he deserved better. RIP, Greg.

Page was a huge talent and a notoriously poor trainer, liked the good life to much.
