@brad2495 We still live in city limits,and less than a hundred feet from the sewer.The people had the house last,which was a store was tight and didn't want to pay extra for water.

@mrlemmon WHEN your septic system fails it will be very expensive because you have allowed 16 years of sludge to build up in your drainfield. Good luck.

What happens when you wait that long is the solids get into the drainfield and will eventually cause the system to fail and you have to replace the system.

we haven't had ours pumped out in 16 yrs.And it is doing ok I guess.

Not necessarily, it could be from the shower, dishwasher, or washing machine.
