I was one of the many fortunate ones to meet Jerry and the boys back in 1990 at Chinese New Years with my friend who made a giant red dancing bear costume. The promoters asked if we could come back stage to show Jerry and the band plus their kids the costume. This was one of Wavey Gravy's idea, he loved it. We even made Bear bucks for each venue. We will always carry a part of Jerry in our hearts and souls. Thank you Bob and Phil for keeping the flame alive with FURTHER. Thank you,

My first Dead show! I remember how the end of this song seemed to go on forever until a chill went through the crowd as we realized they were singing about Pig Pen. I wrote about this show in detail on my voncello website in the Vistors' Corner, calling it "Life Is But A Dream".

The photo is of the band trying to get to Watkins Glen, 7/28/73. Don't know what the 10/6/73 date is about!?! I, too, sweltered thru that sweaty weekend in DC, will never forget that Dark Star & the cloud smoke/humidity/weird energy/aliens above the band while they played it....I know I didn't imagine it......
