You did not unload the choke after the engine fired...not good at all on the engine to use more choke, and for longer than needed. Piston wall lubrication suffers immensely...that is, assuming that this is a 4 cycle engine. Other than that, this is one neat little generator! So start taking care of it now, ya hear? LOL

you can convert the generator to low pressure propane and natural gas and still keep gasoline tell uscarb.com or 1800 553 5608 that you want the tri fuel option. I did with both of my eu2000i units after hurricane katrina in new orleans

I like it, but like most generators it needs more cowbell.

Sounds almost like a battery powered generator!

You should show pushing the choke in....faster!!!

Hi dshmechanic,
Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely do that next time.
I only had it out to keep it from running rough. But it seems like that was being caused by a partially gummed up idle needle.
I solved the rough idling by running the generator under a significant load for an hour to clean out the jet with fresh fuel. I plugged in a toaster oven set to 450F, a 100 watt lamp, and our kitchen refrigerator.
Now it idles smoothly with out any choke.
