  • An excellent, urbane and witty interview from a thoroughly cultured channel, France 24, - always worth watching. Thanks for posting.

  • hitchens is such a beautiful, articulate, and intelligent man, and yes, we are much less religious than people believe.

there is no difference between islamic and christian fundies, with the exception that most christian fundies live in secular societies that would not tolerate christofascists behaving in primarily the same manner as islamic fundies, because A BELIEF IN GOD IS NOT AN EXCUSE TO BE UNACCOUNTABLE FOR WHAT THEY DO IN THE NAME OF THEIR GOD.

  • @ludvan67 No need to respond. You expose your stupidity and hate with your comment. The US Got what it deserved? What kind of a sadist are you?

Every country in the world, even Afghanistan, condemned the attacks...except one country. Iraq. Do you know what was said? It's in the same vein as your disgusting remark; 'The American cowboys have got what they deserved'.

Congrats, you now have something in common with Saddam. Although, I'm not sure you feel that is a shameful thing...

  • @Territomauvais Well you know your countries crimes against humanity. It's not another countries business to interfere. Saddam was OK for the US when they needed him. Look this is the age old story of colonialism. Intervening in Zimbabwe would only make things worse. As with Saddam all we have to do is wait for Mugabe to die or be overthrown. Now I'll tell you the truth. 11/09/01. Was one of the happiest days of my life the US got what it deserved. I won't respond any more.

  • @ludvan67 The case for intervention in Zimbabwe and Iraq is of a planetary difference. If you can't see that, you can't see that. Saddam is directly responsible for attempted genocide, and a war in which over a million young men died for no reason. (Sanctioned by US President and 'peace activist' Jimmy Carter btw, so don't think I don't know the USA has many stains on its record)

The people of the country tried in Iraq. They were slaughtered from the air. 1991 uprisings, look it up.

  • @Territomauvais The US thinks it's sacrosanct, & no one has the right to attack it. Well it aint. As the saying says "There are no rules in love and war. As for bin laden. I'll quote from a video on my channel from Naom Chomsky "Every American president up to the present should be hanged as a war criminal" I am against the death penalty, but I agree with the sentiment.

  • @ludvan67 What another fatuous comment lol.

Would you like Osama to have outlived you? Come on, don't be silly. And unless you're suggesting you have remorse that Mr. Bin Laden is dead, I don't get your point.

Neither are filled with hate, quite the opposite. You also seem to misguided about the Iraq war...do you not think Saddam was a murderous, genocidal tyrant or something?

  • @Territomauvais What conspiracy? I'm simply stating my opinion. Hold on I want to see from where you are. As I thought the so the US. Market oriented love of capitalism, like Hitchins. It's a shame about him. he is a very clever man, and understands the evil of religion, but unlike Richard Dawkins he's filled with hate. He wanted to live long enough to see Bin Laden dead. How sad to want to see another person dead, and how stupid.

  • @ludvan67 You are severely misguided with your conspiracy...

  • Hitchins is a hypocrite. I have no problem with his views against religion, I share them. But he lives in the US because of money. Why does he send his kids to a Quaker school? Aren't there any secular schools where he lives, if not move. The war against Iraq was about revenge for 9/11. Because the US could not target Al Qaeda because it's scattered around the world, they chose Iraq. Using lies to justify it. WMD's & the like.

  • @jojoinhere They're trying to influence you by speaking your language... since nobody wants to learn french anymore.
