Very interesing and rare pic of Lennon with the red Rose Morris Rickenbacker 325 holding the harmonica. I have never seen this pic before, I've been a fan for 35 years.

Hi there....I've been a fan for a very long time too. And, I've never understood exactly why John used it. I've got a copy of the book "Beatle Gear". Maybe that will shed some light on it. I'll have to find it and check it out. Thanks for listening. QuarryHigh

@QuarryHigh From what I understand, his black '64 325 had some problems. A British dealer who sold the Rose Morris models rushed one to John. John only played it for a few months. Once the black 325 was fixed, he went right back to playing it.

I collected many of the Beatle guitars when I was younger and still have all of them. I was buying vintage '60's Gretsch Country Gents and Tennesean's in the 1980's for $150-300 bucks each... nobody wanted them back then.

Yep. It's for real alright. I've heard identical versions which purport to be the Philly concert. Also, any number of reference books verify it. Prime Beatles in 1964! The blueprint for all that came after it. Thanks for the comment reg5381.

This is one of the greatest versions of 'She Loves You'. I saw a Beatles tribute band play it about a year and a half ago and thought it was the greatest, until now.

@reg5381 Back in the seventies, before Mark Lewisohn came along and sorted everything out, this was often referred to as the "Whiskey Flats" concert. Along with Live in Japan, and the Hollywood Bowl, this was one of the more common and popular bootlegs available. Great performance too.
