The project continues. After I applied the Eastwood Rust Encapsulator in the last video, I moved on to making steel patched. I cut patches from sheets of 22 gauge sheet steel and affixed them with steel rivets.

I've done this kind of repair to floors before. So long as you clean up all the rust first, and coat the completed repairs to keep them completely clean and dry, there's no reason you shouldn't get long life out of repairs like these.

  • @nmries Hey there - first off, I am still planning on doing that fender video you requested. I just haven't been able to get to it yet. As for the rubber plugs, try a Mercedes dealership, or Mercedes Classic Center (their info is on the Mercedes website). No real aftermarket solution for that. For the smoking, start with a valve ADJUSTMENT (a DIY job - I don't have a video on that... yet) and run a can of Lubro Moly's Diesel Purge through the engine. Those should make a big difference.

  • Hi. Do you where I can find the circular rubber plugs for the floor?A couple have disintegrated.also, my sons's 83 mercedes diesel sedan is smoking upon acceleration.what do you suggest?any fuel treatment?valve job?
