For a weird reason in most of the best mob movies the Italians are not the protagonists (Brother-Last Man Standing-The untouchables) but the opponents.

I saw Takeshi Kitano himself in Thessaloniki International Film Festival here in Greece some years ago. He brought his movie "Achilles and tortoise". The Festival gave to him the Golden Alexander (the Great) to honour him for his offer to global cinema. He was moved and said that he admire the ancient Greek philosophers as anybody else.

Yes, Irish mafia is in many movies. Don't forget that in "Goodfellas" a guy is Irish, not Italian.There are a lot of mafia movies. I, as a Greek, would like to say also that all Italian Mafia guys are from south Italy (Sicily,Calabria,Napoli=Magna Grecia, a Greek region from antiquity). When i see faces i say "Una Faccia Una Razza" which means in Italian "One Face One Race".Greeks and Italians (southern ones most) say it to express the similarities between them. Are you Irish, by the way?
