Solomon's folly. Ieroboam's intransigence. Recognise youself in any of this?

  • Thank you Eminence

It is indeed so easy to accuse "them" of being the reprobate sinners, and to forget that we all sin almost as often as we breathe.

  • Vladyka, today I reflected on your broadcast about Solomon, Jeroboam and Rehoboam. This led me to think about yesterday's Gospel reading for the 8th Sunday of Luke (new calendar): the "Good" Samaritan narrative. Given the themes of identifying the neighbor and extending hospitality to guests in chap. 10, why does Christ refer to Lev. 18:5 when first answering the scribe: "Do this and you will live?" Does loving one's neighbor pertain to purity of keeping the Lord's statutes (context of Lev 18)?

  • This is such an interesting and relevant series.
