i swear, all dobies hate baths. i miss mine so much. i was thinking about getting a bull terrier or maybe a white doberman because the red dobies look too much like my old dog and i would be all melon collie.

@barudzija7 ha...yes, I bath him now on the back porch...as he is too big for the bath tub. He hates it! I have never owned a bull terrier, but I have friends who do, and they are great dogs. I would refrain from getting a white doberman. I have a friend who is a veterinarian assistant that has one that was "dropped off" by her owners. She is very sweet, but white dobermans are products of heavy inbreeding and have many inherit health issues. Maybe get ya a black/rust doberman?

@bigshowjoe1226 thank you. Dobes are great dogs. Have you owned them before? I just uploaded a new video of him yesterday. He is 1 1/2 years old now.

@akbrown15 I have not owned a Dobe before. I have been an owner of two wonderful German Shepherds over the last 10 years. The first one died of bloat and I just recently had to put down my 7 year old due to bone cancer. Both sad stories but great dogs. I have always liked Dobes and I thought now would be a good time to get one. I saw your latest video too and your dog looks great. I am open to any information you are willing to share concerning Dobes that may help me know what to expect.

@bigshowjoe1226 I am sorry to hear about your dogs. When we sign up to own one, we go in knowing we may get 10 years if we're lucky. Its a sad part, but while they are here its awesome. German Shepherds were used in the breeding of Dobermans in the late 1800's. I would say the dogs are pretty much the same. Both are top 5 intelligence among all breeds. One key difference is Shepherds will shed a lot more. You can't go wrong either way.
