Cheap and Easy Recording Studio Setup ASIO Patchmix

Had another read of Sound On Sounds Patchmix demystified article but got a headache.

I'm a dumb muso not a mathematician.

anyone know some tutorial videos or better articles for noobs on knowing how to use Patchmix?

each channel has an effect (right click I think on the track) and the actual output has effects as well. I use mostly effects in like Reaper...

what patchmix software is that? can I have a link? or just say what its called.

it came with the emu 0404 card. I think there are several other options but I now use a firewire mixer by phonic

The option I went with on my EMU 0404 PCI, was to hook up a digital valve preamp and mine is the ART DPSII and that takes microphones and instruments, and outputs at 24-bit. It's not a budget option for the beginner, but will be a good investment that you will keep.

ive got the pcie one and i CANT have my asio routed so the volume lowers if i lower the windows volume.. just got this today so if anyone can help me out that would be awesome!

im running W7 and it seems to work except that i cant get ASIO IN lowered when i lower windows.

WAVE can be lowered so if i play winamp and the just lower with my hotkey on my keyboard that works but not with ASIO: :(

Is your card the 0404 PCI or PCIe internal card? If its PCI im looking for drivers for my 0404, lost my install disk! Been on EMU site but they dont support the older PCI drivers anymore, Just the new PCIe! can't even hear your video since I have no sound!

HI there.. i got EMU1212 i got it installed and its works fine.

I think you are using mixer Behringer UB1204 same as mine. I got my guitar & mic jack to mixer input. Then, mixer main out goes to EMU1212 input.

The EMU1212 balance out goes to my Studio Monitor.

My question is.. How can get the playback sound back into the mixer so i can use headphones from mixer to listen/monitor the recordings?
