@bergerlemur I find that it is nice, and different. If you took my comment to be different or offensive, I appologize, but it is and was not meant that way. As it has been a month ago since the comment, Many people of my generation just can't seem to get past the gay element of relationships. It is very nice to see a supportive father, in a role such as Jack Thompson is portraying. And also the fact that Russell Crowe seems to be ashamed of this role, as Jack has made the comment in regards to.

I was just looking for some clarification on 'the obvious' as I wasn't sure if you meant the gay themes, or the relatively low production values compared to blockbusters, the fact that russel crowe is playing a soft role compared to his macho warrior roles, or something I didn't think of.

For the record I'm straight but this is one of my favourite movies.

If you can get past the obvious, the movie is quite good. Showing that a relationship between a father and son in a different light.
