Uke will fall to the outside or to the inside depending on which direction his face is moved. Being at the same side of uke, do iriminague with both arms, one at a time, and see the diference.

I recommend doing back stretch before and after this exercise. Although it seems soft, the pressure and rotation that happen at the lower back may cause injuries over time.

I am a ukemi student of Donovan Waite's (though don't speak for him). To me, this is a valuable practice, and an interesting "evolution." This is a great way to practice donovan sensei's "ushiro otoshi." However, as has been said to me many times by both advanced sensei and shihan, ukemi should not become a fetish. This iriminage is being very sweet to the uke - if you "complete" the throw by throwing down, you cannot always take this fall safely. also...
