Rockabilly @ it's finest.

[Verse 1:]
Well-a, Jeannie, Jeannie, Jeannie,
Come an' dance with me.
Well, I'll teach you every dance,
From here an' 'cross the sea.

[Chorus:]
Well-a, first we Hop, 1 yay-yay-yay.
Then we Bop, 1 yay-yay-yay,
Then we Swap 1 or Rock 'n' Roll 1 .
Well, do the Stroll. 1

[Verse 2:]
Well-a, Jeannie, Jeannie, Jeannie,
Got my Blue Suede Shoes 2 on.
A Pink Carnation, 3
An' my Black Slacks 4 too.

[Chorus:]
Well-a, first we Hop, yay-yay-yay,
Then we Bop, yay-yay-yay,
Then we Swap or Rock 'n' Roll.
Well, do the Stroll.

[Bridge:]
Well, baby-baby, you will have to wait.
I'll be ready at eight.
I keep a-knockin' at your front door,
All the cats are hoppin' at the big Five-Four. 5

[Verse 3:]
Jeannie, Jeannie, Jeannie,
When we reach the hall,
A-well, we rock around the clock,
An' really have a ball.

[Chorus:]
Well-a, first we Hop, yay-yay-yay,
Then we Bop, yay-yay-yay,
Then we Swap or Rock 'n' Roll.
Well, do the Stroll.
Well...

[Instrumental break.]

Well...

[Bridge, repeated:]
Well, baby-baby, you will have to wait.
I'll be ready at eight.
I keep a-knockin' at your front door,
All the cats are hoppin' at the big Five-Four.

[Verse 4, repeated:]
Jeannie, Jeannie, Jeannie,
When we reach the hall,
A-well, we rock around the clock,
An' really have a ball.

[Chorus:]
Well-a, first we Hop, yay-yay-yay,
Then we Bop, yay-yay-yay,
Then we Swap or Rock 'n' Roll.
Well, do the Stroll.

You're welcome. If you're an Eddie Cochran fan you must be a fan of real rock 'n' roll.

  • @calindesmoines1 In terms of real rock 'n' roll, I like Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Bill Haley and his Comets, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent, and Janis Martin, otherwise known as the Female Elvis.

  • One of rockabilly's greatest perfromers and one who died way too young. Born in Oklahoma and raised in Albert Lea, Minnesota. He first recorded in the country music field in 1954 at the ripe old age of 16. Killed in a car wreck in 1960 while on tour in England with Gene Vincent. "Jeannie Jeannie Jeannie" was the record released just before the Rock & Roll classic "Summertime Blues". Full name with correct spelling is Edward Ray Cochrane. Made the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 1987.

  • @calindesmoines1 Thanks for that little bio on Eddie!
