Yes it would be because it would happen in a matter of seconds or minutes.

haha, i know. i just have no idea how c++ works. i'm pretty good with computers, but not great. i've got the user interface mastered, but none of the anatomy.
looks simple, but i'm guessing it takes a lot of understanding. it's more than i can do, and most likely more than i'll ever be able to do.

I tried to make it represent annual cycles in the life of a tree. What needs more explanation?

If you could save a frame sequence from your animation and turn it into a video using Virtual Dub, you could put it on youtube too. It is fun to show off sometimes.

I know no way to capture the output of a borland pascal executable... maybe It's time to learn a higher lelel programming language... what did you use for this?

If you can figure out how to save your images to common formats like bmp, tiff, png, jpg..., then you can make a frame sequence that Virtual Dub(another program) can turn into a video file like avi, and mpeg. By "Borland Pascal", do you mean Turbo Pascal? I used Delphi which was basically the windows generation of the DOS-based Turbo Pascal so maybe I can help.
