Glad y'all like the nostalgia and all....but, I've got to tell you: See this video? See the "landscape" ? See the mountains in the distance ? Then you've SEEN Route 66 as it exists today. The only thing this video cannot convey is the rough condition of the Mother Road. Oh, and take LOTS of water with you, perhaps a thermal blanket that is reflective on one side, and flares. There is a lot of nothing on Route 66. Enjoy.

I'm leaving Chicago for Lake Havasu Arizona this July and will be driving as much of the Mother Road I can find!
