Freightliner trucks are not sold in Finland. I have not heard any new models driving around regularly. Older Freightliners have been privately imported from the States. And they are used for customization. And for cruising in the summer. This Sisu was used from time to time. And the owner does not want to spend the money on a new truck. He had many spare transmission´s laying in his yard. The Cummins version of this trans is much stronger. So the Cummins engine would suit better.
Noise was the complaint that lead to pulling this transmission and inspectin it.
Overdrive unit should read Range section. Sorry about that English is not my native language. I think that it would be wise to pull the Range section and inspecting it first. This clutch failure is very common in range section. If the problem is not there then it is in the front section. And that means pulling the trans and having a look . Just remove the shifter. And the Plate that has the shifter forks.
Best cheapest and fast way is to ofer a local shop mechanic lunch take him for a drive and have him listen to the trans. But my guess is the range unit. I can send you some photos of the range unit if you pm your email.
