"Everybody's Got the Right to Love," a sure shot at limp sales, came out because of an agreement between Motown and the publisher before the Supremes even recorded it. Cindy Birdsong said the original recording of the song is much better than the released version, with all three ladies taking leads. A big misstep for the label, but "Stoned Love" followed thank God. Motown put all the money into Ross because Gordy knew the Supremes would continue just fine without her, and they did.

I love this album but as a kid of 14 when this album was released I was apalled by the gowns that Jean had to squeeze in that Diana woare with the group. On the back cover they were in the black gowns they wore on Ed Sullivan show as well as the front cover photo. I felt back then how TACKY. Motown gave the girls no budget for new dresses and they had to recycle the old gowns. What a way to bring in a new lead singer. Diana got a new wardrovbe for her single act but not the group..
