I watched this movie when I was 5 (in english and it was renamed Monster City) and I thought it was amazing and not all that scary.

I know grown men that won't watch any kind of horror cause it scares them to much.

Just because kids have weaker minds doesn't mean they shouldn't see things like this. You can't tell if someones going to be scared of a movie till they watch it.

I was also about 9 or so when I saw this on the sci fi channel for the first time, it opened me up to the amazing world of anime, I started watching tenchi muyo though when I was about 6 or 7 tho, at that time tho I didn't even know it was japanese anime I just thought it was a badass cartoon series with much better animation and quality. I just saw Berserk (which I am now obsessed with) about a year and a half ago, the last episode "the hawk man cometh" kind of freaked me out tho lol. Good suff

I loved this movie, too bad I can't watch it on here, I first saw this anime when the sci-fi channel was playing anime films (Movies) every saturday morning, back when anime was still newish to everyone and still badass as hell, womenizing, nudity, sex, cursing, extreme violence and not to mention the great paint cells/drawing.

This was one of the first anime movies I ever watched. It was on the Sci-Fi Channel way back when they were doing a block called  "Saturday Anime"

I think Anime is an important part of our imaginative growth as a culture. I'm in love anime & have been since I was five & chanced upon Robotech, which at the time was my very first anime experiance. It opened my eye's to a brand new world & amazing creations such as this, Akira, Vampire Hunter D and so much more. It's influenced my creativity and lifestyle as well as opened my mind to endless possibilities in the writing field. I'm just happy I found all this stuff while I was young.
