The Bernardo Yorba Middle School Concert Band plays "Serengeti: An African Rhapsody" by John Higgins, at the SCSBOA festival @ Valencia High School, Placentia, CA, March 26, 2009. These are 7th and 8th graders under the direction of Rita Watson. The band received top marks at the festival. See http://www.byeu.org/ for more. Sorry for the low light - the power went out just before their performance, and came back on a few minutes after they were done!

  • My school band played this last year! it was so fun :D

  • im playing 1st french horn for this song (which this band obviosly lacks)

and the bongo rythem at 2:52 sucked in this band. We're just practicing and it already sounds way more epic than this!!!

  • Wow!! I have not heard this since junior high school!!! We played this my 8th grade year in the Columbus, GA All City Honor Band. I played 1st Trumpet.

  • i played this at band camp :D!!!

  • trumpet solo was flat and choppy.

  • woodwinds need to back off at 0:54 dont attack so hard

  • my 7th grade band is playing this it sounds way better if you play faster in the intro

  • my 8th grade band class is playing this song. I play first alto and i love it. You guys did amazing nice work
