The story behind the photos:

Photo number 10:
The Titan beetle (Titanus giganteus) is the longest insect species in the world.
Adults can grow up to 6.5 inches (16.7 cm) in length. It is said that their mandibles can snap pencils in half and cut into human flesh. Adult titan beetles do not feed, they simply fly around to find mates. There is a local 'cottage industry' of leading tours to collect specimens of this beetle (which can command prices over US$500).

Photo number 9:
The Atlantic wolffish, also known as the Seawolf or sea cat, is a marine fish, the largest of the wolffish family. They are commonly sighted throughout Asia. The largest specimen recorded measured 150 cm (almost 5 ft) long and weighed almost 18 kg (40 lbs). The Atlantic wolffish's distinguishing feature, from which it gets its common name, is its extensive teeth structure. Behind the conical teeth in the upper jaw, there are three rows of crushing teeth. The lower jaw has two rows of molars behind the primary conical teeth.

Its range is confined to cold, boreal waters of the Arctic, The largest recorded specimen found, washed up on the shore of Massachusetts Bay in 1870, had a bell (body) with a diameter of 7 feet 6 inches (2.29 m) and tentacles 120 feet (37 m) long.

The coconut crab is the largest land-living arthropod in the world. It is also known as the robber crab because some coconut crabs are rumored to steal shiny items such as pots and silverware from houses and tents. There have been reports in the literature of specimens measuring 6 feet (1.8 m) across the thorax and weighing 30 pounds (14 kg) they can live more than 30 years. The front pair of legs has large claws used to open coconuts, and these claws can lift objects up to 29 kilograms (64 lb).

Photo number 4:
The king of herrings, is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest bony fish alive, at up to 17 meters (56 ft) in length. On April 6 2011, a live specimen measuring 3.5 m was found off the east coast of Taiwan, nearly a month after the devastating tsunami hit Japan in March. Taiwanese fishermen believed that it surfaced to the shallow water because of the earthquake in Japan. They gave it the nickname: "Earthquake Fish".

Photo number 3:
The Tasmanian giant crab is a species of crab that resides in the southern waters of Australia at depths of 140--270 meters (460--890 ft). The Tasmanian giant crab is one of the largest crabs in the world, reaching a mass of 13 kilograms (29 lb) and a carapace width of up to 46 centimeters (18 in).
