Patty Griffin sings a mind blowing rendition of this amazing song that she wrote in honor of Martin Luther King. The words can be found here: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/pattygriffin/uptothemountainmlksong.html
Needs to be played on a good stereo loud to be really appreciated.

  • yea i agree..tino ataahua..

  • @1941caironewyork NO ONE can touch this Patty Griffin version .Others do an admirable job , but as the songwriter and a superb performer, her nuances and pathos brings this song to a new high .

  • Awesome!Love Patty`s voice,so Angelic!

  • Fabulous!

  • @1941caironewyork - For a slightly more secular song, with the same beauty & intensity, check out "Heavenly Day" on the same CD, "Children Running Through."

  • Full of His Love and so Blessed By His Grace when My Father and My God ask me to come up to His Most High and So Holy Place...and He continues Asking Me To... So Amazing and So Merciful...How Truly Great Is His Salvation, Freely Given to You by His Son My Lord Jesus Christ...Amen and Amen...

  • In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. please consider supporting the MLK Memorial Foundation - easy to find.. google..

    Love Patty and this song...

  • My favorite singer, brings me to tears often -- tears of joy, tears of sorrow, tears of everything. I've seen her in concert how many times now .... four, I think. I can't wait to make it five, six, seven. Such an under-appreciated talent. Every one of her albums is must-hear, start to finish (well, maybe those few seconds when her parents sing along with her on "Impossible Dream" could be cut, but it's just a few seconds...).

  • Many many people can sing, Few people can sing and mean it.....
