This was an unbelieveable game. A phenomenal comeback by Canes. F.S.U. fought right back. The Miami comeback was the Steve Walsh to Michael Irvin show. Great memories.
Any Canes fan would LOVE to watch Miami with a home like the 'Doak.' FSU did a great job of recognizing the importance of an 'on-campus' facility. Joe Robbie/Pro Player/Land Shark/ Whatever the hell it is called doesn't provide the atmosphere of Doak Campbell Stadium. The OB may have been a dump, but it was our dump.
I agree with both of you. College football was more simple and just about the game back then. Not what its become now. Look at how small Doak Campbell Stadium was back in 1987. A crowd of just over 60,000. The atmosphere is what drew you into the game while you were watching it on tv. Made you feel as if you were right there on the 50 yard line or up in the stands. Sadly that small town college experience has been forever been lost due to this modern 24/7 internet/cable over exposure we have.
you're absolutely right and there is more politics than ever to try and alienate some schools from getting talent...its a fraud now all ran by the media.
2:29 is what it was all about back in the day. College football was college football. Fans right there up behind the bench. All that was needed in a stadium was a field and seats. Now college football is more and more like the NFL. Corporate stadiums, less and less vibe affect from the crowd.

@umfla1 The OB wasn't on Campus though. Even the OB wasn't great for college ball.
