So, where was the actual "dancing?"

You did a bunch of ariels but, didn't do any actual dancing. I'm sure you can both dance very well but, this is what earns 2nd place at a country swing competition? She moves her hips like a latin dancer at the beginning of the video which makes me think you practice some other styles. Why not lindy to this song and add the stunts in? I mean, he was just standing there most of the video.

@vision40 It was actually open to all types of dance. Most of the competitors were hip hop dance crews or individuals doing hip hop, some salsa, west coast swing, and capoeira. We chose to dance on the catwalk...it's kind of hard to tell but it was very narrow. I'm just glad we didn't fall off. :)

@tripletwostep Which is why I can't stand "Cowboy Swing" most of the time. You have drunk idiots throwing girls around with ZERO training. In this video you can see that they practiced those lift off the dance floor. At country bars you get these reinstone cowboys that think they know what they're doing and people end up getting hurt. People need to learn the basics of dance before they try to go big with lifts.

@realdeal55 I have a pro friend who just won his second swing title he has 3 rules have fun, be cool & be safe! I have seen a drunk kid do a over the head lift with a girl & drop her on her head also another couple did a death spiral knocking another couple off their feet but the girl doing the spiral limped off the flloor & never came back that night. Some of the guys jerk the girl in fact 6 month ago a friend fell on the floor because of a guy doing that. I wondered what u thought. Thanks

What happened to dancing with the beat of music? Is that pretty much gone now with this type of dance? I have seen many 2 step swing videos now and not a single one seems to care about the music. They just put as many moves/patterns together as possible without regard for music. I am a swing dancer and country/ballroom. I think these dancers in this video do a good job but when I see swing dancers dance with the beat it is vastly superior to this.
