The Maxpedition RAT Wallet and the M2 Waistpack face off to see which does EDC better. This is a three part series: Part 1 reviews the RAT Wallet, Part 2 covers the M2 Waistpack, and Part 3 is a side-by-side comparison. Two distinct design approaches offer unique solutions to differing small EDC needs.

  • good review.. do you think a passport would fit in the main compartment???

    cheers in advance

  • @faranglaw Thanks! I don't have a passport (shocker, i know), but if my info is correct, a U.S. Passport is 4 7/8" X 3 3/8". By my measurements I think it will just fit. It will be a tight, as it looks like the compartment is 3 1/2" wide. Plenty of height at 6" though. On the width it's a close call, if I were you I'd either want to try it out in person, or buy from a retailer where I can return the pouch if it doesn't work. If you test it, let us all know what you find out. Best of luck!

  • @LuminousCosmos Cheers for that..too tight by the sounds of it so decided to go for the MAX. EDC organizer, that way I can keep all my junk including Passport in one small pouch and keep it in my cargo pocket..thanx for the advice may of saved me having to return it.. ;)

  • @SkiDoc21 Cheers mate, I am thinking of playing it safe and going with a Maxpedition EDC organizer that way I can fit passport, pens multitool etc..

    thanx for the info

  • @faranglaw A British passport does, but barely. There is not even a millimeter of leeway horizontally or vertically. The passport is not squashed in this process, but the pressure on the fabric could possibly lead to wear and tear over a long period of time. I don't think it was designed to carry one.

  • I believe the extra velcro panel on the back is so the quick-attach flaps will "cinch" to the width of your belt and the pouch won't migrate as easily.

  • @StrykingHawk) The Maxpedition catologs are free:D
