[...Save Me...] Joe Jonas Story [Chapter 13: Decisions]

"JOE!"


Nick instantly raised his hand in effort to kill the lycan that held his brother, when the creature's eyes suddenly turned white, and half of it's head fell to the ground, blood bursting from where it once was. The jaws loosened, and, with a low grunt, Joe fell to his knees, and face first into the ground. Nick, although curious about what had happened to the lycan, ran over to his older sibling and turned him over. "Fuck, this can't be happening....!" he cried.


Joe looked up through half-lidded eyes, and opened his mouth, only to cough up more blood then what was already seeping out from his body. "Hold on, Joe, please, just hold on..." Nick whispered, desperately trying to think of what to do. A shadow hovered over the both of them, causing Nick to look up, his face contorted into one of anger and frustration. The other guy, the one who had spectated the fight before, kneeled down beside them. Nick didn't know what exactly to think, he didn't know whether this guy was one he needed to worry about. He hadn't done anything to hurt them, but nor did he do anything to stop that psycho lycan. Nick's eyes caught a glimpse of blood upon the man's hand as his sharp nails retracted, and stared, "You did that?"


The man looked up, his face straight and unreadable, "You killed the lycan?" Nick asked again. "Hn," was the man's only response, and looked back down at Joe, "He's losing to much blood."
"Yeah, I can SEE that," Nick spat, looking down and holding his brothers wound. Joe choked, and the man slapped his hand away, "Don't do that," he warned, "You're making it worse." Nick snarled, "How the hell would you know?!"


Before Nick could say anything, the man grabbed him by the neck and crashed him into the brick wall. "Don't test me, kid," he growled, "I'm trying to help you here, god damn it." Nick gasped, and tried to push him off, but the man barely even shifted, "Why...?" Nick breathed. The man's dark eyes bore into Nick's, "I know what it's like to lose someone dear to you, and I dare not see it happen again. Look at him," He moved Nick to the side, so he had a clear view of his dying brother, "If you don't want me to help him, that's just fine with me. But I don't know if he'll be so grateful."
Nick overlooked his brother's body, slight tears coming to his eyes, "Do you want me to help him, or not?" the man asked again.


Nick closed his eyes, "...Yes."
The man released Nick, who fell to the ground, gasping for oxygen. Nick looked up, and saw the man kneeling over Joe again, "You have a decision to make," he said. Nick looked up, "What...decision...?" he panted, trying to catch his breath. The man turned his head to the side to glance at Nick, "No human has ever survived a Lycan's bite, let alone keep their head," he explained. He placed a hand over Joe's body, and slowly, it lit into a white light. Small particles of that light drifted down, and Joe's slowly moving chest stopped rising.



Nick eyes widened and he rushed over, "What did you do?!" The man didn't look at him, "Relieving him from this pain and torture." he answered. "So you killed him?!" Nick yelled, ready to pounce. The man glared, "I told you that you had a decision, and you need to make it now," he said sternly, "Either he can die here, or I can turn him into one of my kind."
Nick's head felt as if it were going to fall off. "What?" Nick asked, breathless. The man, becoming impatient, groaned, "Look, Lycans and Vampires have a few things in common, our bites being one of them. Think of us likes cobras, get bitten, you get venom." He looked down at Joe, "A small amount of venom is inside of his body right now, and if you let me, I can transfer some more into him and turn him into a Lycan, thus saving him...if that's what you'd like to call it."


Nick stared, unable to speak. This situation was all too familiar, and it felt as if it started to haunt him. Guilt and pain began to fill his stomach just thinking about how Joe would react. But at the same time, he didn't want to lose his brother. What would Kevin think? What would Mom, Dad, and Frankie think? Oh god, he was already dead to them, what was there left to think?



"I can't keep this up forever, kid!" The man winced, "If my power runs out then there's really no way I can save him." Nick looked and saw the man's hand slowly started to steam. Nick gulped and closed his eyes, he couldn't bare to watch any longer. "KID!" the guy yelled. Nick sighed,


"Just do it."
