It has to happen at least once. On this bass I use flatwound strings, making slides somewhat easier on the fingers.

is it just normal that when playing bass your left wrist starts to hurt?? mine is always like that, i wasn't able to play a guitar for 4 weeks because of playing bass and my left wrist really got hurt... it was really painful...

No, it is not normal. Apparently, the technique you use is not suitable for comfortable bass playing.
