Bruce wrote this song for darkness of the edge of town, Patti Smith was in the studio next door and was making her album Easter. Bruce gave her this song and she changed a couple lyrics. (for the worse i may add) she is lucky Bruce is nice, this and people have the power are her only 2 hits ever. Bruce wrote one of them!
