Dog head + pump - body =?

After watching it twice, I felt compelled to find out if its real or not.
This wikipedia article claims that its from a motion picture called Experiments in the Revival of Organisms. Its in the public domain now, so you can download it here — I for one will watch it after Ive gotten over the uneasy feeling from watching the short clip.
The article says there is some debate of whether the experiments are real, or if they were maybe created as Communist propaganda (Communism lets you live forever as a head). But there is no mention of any evidence pointing to this being fake. So, with my usual skepticism, Im going to present something that may or may not disprove the validity of the film. Its not that I dont believe they did (and do) horrible animal experiments, its just this particular clip Im skeptical about.
If you watched the clip above, youll notice that in the last few seconds when they are banging that hammer on the table — the dog moves his head up from the table. Im sorry, but given that your head was sliced clean off at the neck level and you were lying on a table — would you be able to move your head? Maybe open your mouth, but move your head? Hmmmm. Im putting on my mask of skepticism.

Isolated brain refers to keeping a brain alive in-vitro. Maybe by that time it wasn't wrong to use dogs for these experiments, just as today nobody cares if this was done with ants or worms.

This ought to be real. I've seen a video, a convincing video, where a dog (might be a monkey, can't quite remember) brain (just the brain - no head) is kept alive for a few minutes via a series of pipes/wires. Given that the theory behind it is so simple, it makes sense. Someone who knows more about it than me will need to explain the electrical complexities though - both the heart and brain are essentially powered by electrical pulses, presumably they're wired up?

@cheezer24701 the 2012 hype will be used by the governments for there own gain . They can execute so many agendas on that time period and just blame it mother nature , while everyone else points at the mayan calender. ITs all carefully calculated . Nothing expect government intervention will happen 2012. You can take that to the bank ;)
