Dan had a particular fascination with dreams and ghosts, which can be found in many of his lyrics. This song is indeed about the ghost of a beautiful young lady I've read, although it seems to be metaphoric in that sense. A rare composition with a haunting, beautiful melody with fascinating chord progressions. One of my personal favorites to play, but difficult to sing, as are most of his early pieces.

Like every other physical attribute to youth, the voice has been on the wane for decades. Nobody could sing like the young Dan that I've ever heard. This is even tuned down from A440 a half step. I've always loved the guitar work he did on this. I can shadow it some, but there is tremendous depth to the things he plays, even at 23 or so when Home Free was recorded.

Is that a 6-string Ovation Glenn Campbell? I've seen some of the 12 strings from the 60's that look like that.

I wonder why I was never notified you uploaded this song? I do indeed enjoy the melody and lyrics, very haunting, I too have songs about dreams but have not uploaded them yet. The song is a little out of your range but you handled it well going into your falsetto voice, I think you played this song greatly, enjoyed every last note.
