@makeitallrite11 The things that I am doing to establish my little permaculture forest are very demanding. But I do it. The reason that I do it is because I know that one day everything will just go into automatic mode, and I will never have to work again except at harvest. Permaculture is the only way to go. The only people who like standard agriculture are the elite masters. It makes them feel good to control the planets food supply.

It's funny that you should mention Buddhism. I converted to my own style of Buddhism a couple of years ago. I can't agree with ALL of the teachings in Buddhism, but like all religions it's full of many great ideas and sprinkled lightly with some strange ones ;)

@wrfell I've been in quite a few of them religeons full of good ideas mixed in with some strange ones, and worst of all.  The religeons that I have been involved in were filled with evel. (racism, patriotism, etc etc.)

Where does this lady have her market? I too live in KY but I'm in south central ky. I would love to come visit and get some ideas as to how and what to plant in my 3.5 acres to sustain my family should the unthinkable happen. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
