This solo is played over the chord changes to the jazz standard "Misty". It is featured in my book, "Jazz Guitar Soloing Concepts: A Pentatonic Modal Approach to Improvisation" (Fig. 31C, pp. 213-215), published by Hal Leonard (2009). The solo is an implementation of the pentatonic concepts developed in the book that also contains the chord changes, notation, tab, and specific pentatonic scales used for each measure in the solo. The solo in the video is a newer alternate take to the one featured on the CD that accompanies the book. Detailed information about the book, including articles, book review, and mp3 files can be viewed at my website:

You can purchase a PDF file (sent to you via email) of the written out solo in notation and tab, including the chord changes. Also included are 3 backing music tracks (piano, drums, bass) of the song (no solo) in mp3, midi, and band-in-a-box formats. The price is $4.00 and can be purchased through PayPal using my email address: rlemos@calstatela.edu
If you have already purchased the book (Thank You!!), I will send you the package above for free (the backing tracks are not on the CD and the PDF of the music has a few corrections from the version in the book). Just email me at above address and include (as proof of purchase) the first sentence at top of page 220 of the book.
Thank you all very much and best wishes, Ron

Hello lowellbeers, Thank you for your nice comment. I hope you find the video useful in incorporating single lines into your arrangement of this beautiful tune. I love the way standards sound on classical guitar. Ron

Dr Lemos....great guitar information delivery along with video presentation. I gave up the guitar in my early 20s and now at 65 in retirement I have been revived in "starting over" relearning what I have forgotten and expanding my limited knowledge with the help of your instruction and knowledge. I have no problem 'digging into" theory and mechanics at this age. Purchasing your book is on my list of learning/reference. Thanks for your work and effort!

Hello Armbskier, I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with me. It means a lot to me that I can help others expand their ability to play the music we all love. With my "system" you can focus on the music that is inside you and not have to worry about "wrong notes" or a lot of theory. I also appreciate your plans to buy my book. Thank you so much and be sure to check out the free stuff on my website and in my other YouTube videos. Best wishes, Ron
