@passion4drums very true. sometimes his high-pitched voice just bugs me, but that may not be the case for everyone. I still like Labrie's singing in most of DT's songs. just those live performances... you never know what you're gonna get. He's still a pretty good singer nonetheless.

@clatanos ok, true. in my opinion, i like it better. and i think dream theater writes more musically complex songs than darkwater does. Dream theater has lyrics with deeper meaning that often conveys a story or abstract idea, where Darkwater doesn't quite have that level of depth. there is only so much explaining you can do a youtube comment with the limited word space. yes, they are different bands, and thus, they can't truly be compared. I still enjoy listening to both bands.

@TheMetalCellist I can't understand what "better" stands for... There is no better. It's just different...

@TheMetalCellist Calling LaBrie annoying is your opinion.

'Anubis Gate' wipes the floor off the gay band called 'dream theatre.'

Amazing song, people who compare to DT, i wouldn't bother same genre, not the same sound... both incredible bands :D
This isn't Dream Theater, so don't try to compare Darkwater to them.

I am a huge Prog Metal fan... with Dream Theater being the main reason for that,.
That being said.. I do not understand why everyone seems to use them as a metric for any other band in the sub-genre.
What makes Darkwater amazing has nothing to do with DT. The only similarity to me is that both bands attempt to create more intricate, sophisticated music... which they both succeed at.
Anyways, I loved Darkwater's last album and I am really digging what I am hearing of this album.
