Experiment with sprockets before you buy them!

This video demonstrates how the gearing calculator works and shows the following functions: Summary, pre-loaded KTM's (entire 2012 line-up), the ability to define your own bikes and store them in a library for re-use, the ability to compare any 3 bikes in the spreadsheet to one another. For each bike, it displays the speed in gears (both numerical and graphical), the RPM at 60 MPH with stock gearing (for cruising), the effect of changing a tire or sprockets on the speed and rear wheel torque, and a graph of the alternate gearing/tire compared to stock.

In the example shown, a KTM 250 XC is re-sprocketed to approximate the first 5 gears of a KTM 250 SX. A CRF 250 is then re-sprocketed to match those gears (sorry the red font didn't show up on my video very well...), and all three are compared.

This tool takes the guess work out of buying different sprockets!
