  • @johnson200gw Initial only refers to the time the filter starts being used. The efficiency actually gets better as the filter gets dirty. There is no such thing as a filter that is 100% efficient; a filter like this would not let any air through at all. The carbon particles left behind in the combustion chamber are larger in size than dirt particles that could get through our media.

  • @KNfilters initail implies that as it ages it filters less? this is not good... i used to believe that these intakes were a godsend that they didnt hurt your car/truck gave more power and better MPGs but it seems that for a truck that sees a lot of dirt roads these filers would allow some into the motor and that would cause damage

  • @johnson200gw We have all of our tests posted on our website. All of our filters have a 96-99% initial efficiency.

  • the idea of a lifetime filter sounds great, however it seems that your filter would not provide the PROTECTION and FILTRATION of a paper filter...

  • @goodson305 We do not test for or guarantee fuel economy increase. There are over 30 factors that determine this; intake restriction is only one of these factors. In theory, fuel economy should increase. Many of our consumers do report an increase, which can be seen on our testimonial page on our site. Kit 57-3013-2 is for your application and costs $311.99USD plus tax and shipping direct through K&N.

  • Wow I love it, does it affect the gas mileage like does it makes the engine use more gas cause won't like that if not. Do they have that whole parts together in a box for sale I want to buy it How much please? Nice vid I got a 1999 Chevy suburban 5.7L it will fit don't it?
