This video is about my daughter Lana-Mae. Since making this video Lana has had to have another 4 surgeries including the removal of her LP shunt and brain surgery to insert a VP shunt. She is still smiling!
A huge thank you to Sheridan Winn for being so very kind and supportive to us all.
Thank you to Addenbrookes Hospital for taking such good care of Lana.
Thanks to all those who appear in the video and to some who don't for getting us through some very dark times.

  • Does she still have an LP shunt?

I have this conditions as well, with a VP shunt.

And watching this reminds me how good I have it. I can't imagine a kid going through all of this. So heartbreaking. So MUCH research needs to be done on this condition, for those who don't get better from meds, don't get better from surgeries, there are no answers. She's such a strong girl.

  • @halfacanadian Lana had her LP shunt removed after they inserted her VP shunt. She is doing really well at the moment. Thank you.

  • I was diagnosed with IH in 2001 at the age of 12. Back then, it was still pretty uncommon. I was more or less a guinea pig, and my case is even in some medical books. I still struggle with it, but it's a lot more under control than it used to be. I really feel like you can't understand it unless you have it. When I tell people about it, they're response is "Oh, you have headaches. Me, too." But no, it's not just headaches. It's a debilitating disorder than can take over your whole life.

  • i have just watched this and it made me cry for your wee girl........i also have IIH, and like your daughter i have had multiple ops and i know how hard it is for me to cope with, your daughter is an inspiration to me and i hope for everyone that watches this.......my thoughts and prayers are with you xxx
