While I am disspointed that TDK didn't get its video game adaptation, I'm absolutely happy Arkham Asylum came out instead. I'm just fine with that, not to mention, Arkham City (or Arkham Asylum 2, and yes, it will have free roam) is coming. Good news!

i saw a vid of part of their gotham and a few running mechanics. not great looking, but it was promising. but from the looks of it, arkham 2 is gonna be the gotham free roam we're all waiting for, seeing as the trailer takes place outside the asylum.

Thank god this one didn't come out because the new batman arkham asylum did an amazing job its suppose to be the best ever game for batman with incredible gameplay and player interaction with the batman is just amazing.....! ...superb!

yeah i tink there will b a sequel it has had alot of positive reviews and i also expect it to sell well also and i yeah i tink its a big possiblity that the sequel will b an open world gotham.

They canned it because EA dropped the Pandemic Brisbane studio, that plus EA were going to lose the IP rights to Bats meant that with deaddlines, an engine not designed for an open world free roaming gotham (which was the plan) and the usual pressure from EA bigshots meant the game was cursed from the start. Shame really, a free roaming gotham sounded great.

EA could consider it after they complete "Arkham Asylum" and it wouldn't be a big surprise considering the fact that EA is taking a lot of heat for not releasing "The Dark Knight" video game. If I had to say anything, I would say they would probably start development of the game after "Arkham Asylum" comes out with the development branch responsible for "Arkham Asylum" developing on the game.

Well, the developers who were going to make it folded. EA still holds the license, but since the development team folded as a result of the delay for the biggest movie of 2008, it is not likely it will be released soon. However, there is hope for a late 2009 or 2010 release, should EA decide to have another development team start development of the game.
