the safety is stout enough to never activate itself. Mine never has in the holster.

i agree with you about the laser controls.

I fixed the hard to push laser buttons on mine by taking them off then slipping a piece of plastic I cut from a qtip tube over the little nub and putting it back on. Easy to push now.
