Anyone can do once-a-month cooking, even if they do not have a stand alone freezer. This demonstration shows how 20+ frozen meals can fit inside a 10 cu. ft side-by-side freezer.

  • How do you cook them in the microwave? Do they work well straight to the oven?

  • @tinajo650 You can do straight from freezer to microwave or oven. Just make sure the packaging is safe for either way you choose.

  • Do you think you could make a video on the kinds of thing that you can freeze? Ive never made meals and frozen them, however Id really like to start. I have a 6 yr old little girl, a set of 2 yr old twins (boys), and a husband who I promise can eat more than all of us put together, lol. I have no clue what you can and cannot freeze. Also I dont really know what to put them in. Completely clueless in this area. Have a huge freezer in my garage with absolutely nothing in it :(

  • @amberd521 I will add that to my list. Sorry so late in responding. I just now saw this comment.

  • @TheAlternate2Me Yes, it depends on the sauce. I use chile sauce and that freezes fine. If cream sauce, I would freeze the enchiladas without saucing them. Add the sauce right before you bake.

  • @LifeasMOM oh awesome...i already saved the site the other day...i just made some chicken enchiladas. what do you think of that? would that be freezable? and how would i freeze it? i'm due in exactly one month...i'm hoping it'll last at least a week after sep 28 in case the baby comes a bit late. i'll check out your site right now. =)

  • @TheAlternate2Me I address this extensively on my blog. However, youtube won't let me leave a link here. So, you can go to lifeasmom and look for Freezer cooking in the archived posts in the sidebar

  • @LifeasMOM .......cool...i gotta figure out how to fit some meals in there...gotta make some meals for my son and hubby cuz i'll be having a baby soon and he's not the kind to cook, so i'll have to make some for him to have while i'm in the hospital...and then also a few for when i'm home resting...i'll figure it out...any suggestions on what i can make and what will freeze well?

  • @TheAlternate2Me I started doing this with the smallest top freezer known to man. It was one step up from a dorm fridge. We still were able to squeeze about 40 meals in there if they were in plastic bags. But, we didn't have an ice maker. That could make a difference.

  • i don't even have a freezer like that...i got the old school kind...the small one at the top...the basic kind of fridge...not much can fit in it.
