Track performed with his 18-Piece Rhythm and Blues Orchestra at Le Trebendo Club, Paris - March 2006.

These days, Jools Holland is perhaps best known as a TV/Radio Presenter, and Big Band Leader.

But as this video shows, he's also a superb pianist with a special talent for old style Boogie Woogie Piano Music.

The track shown, i.e. 'The Bumble Boogie', is often played at his concerts and is always a crowd-pleasing show-stopper!

  • @Mike7193 keither fucking emerson dude

  • Its a outstanding number.

  • @123snowball I have to agree, i only ever heard him play the schmaltzy stuff. He has one solid left hand.

    I don't like this 'who is the greatest malarky' it's all subjective. Was never keen on Tatum though

  • with all do respect, no one can touch this one;

    Bumble-Boogie (Hummelflug) played by the Austrian piano master Hannes Otahal

    Just copy the sentence and place into search window above and you'll see what I mean.

  • This song rocks!!!! The musicians Rocks!!! Showww!!

  • that's a cool left hand

  • @123snowball I agree.. Liberace rocked this piece awesomely!! :)

  • This is an old novelty piece...Jools gives it what I'd call a jazz-boogie treatment, and very well he does it too. For me though, it's a show-off fun piece and Liberace's version is the tops. Liberace has the reputation of being the old ladies' favourite with his candelabras and schmaltzy arrangements, but he was at his best in up-tempo numbers. He was a terrific boogie exponent and no one, with the possible exception of Art Tatum, played ragtime better.
