  • SAY WHAT??

  • I'm not the original author of (most of) this little piece of prose.

  • sounds like you are getting a resonance off of the face shield. you might try a uni-directional mic instead of a omni-directional one. I have been able to do so in the past thru different electronic parts suppliers.

  • The issue is that my helmet cam recorder needs line level input. The only mics I've found that do this are security mics that are very sensitive. I may need to wire up a little preamp so I can use a noise-canceling mic.

I've also experimented with two other camera systems, which also had audio issues.

I'm convinced over half my problem is my flip-up helmet, it is very noisy and seems to resonate right at the frequency of my voice.

  • Jim you have just described how I feel at this moment in time in my life , I thought I was the only one , thank you so much for posting your thought's , it has helped more than you know.

  • I'm glad you found the video interesting. To be fair I am just reading a slightly modified opening paragraph of a famous novel.

  • It's internal clipping of the mic due to proximity effect.

The mics you're using are not meant to be close to the source they're recording. So they get overwhelmed.

So using a low impedance mic with a small preamp like you suggested should solve the problem. It won't stop wind noise but it'll record your voice better. It's not really that bad though, sounds a bit like an old 27MC-radio. But you can still make out what you're saying...

  • An ode to a rider.

Dont worry about the audio. Not man of us have it resolved to crisp and clean audio. Such is the nature of motovlogging. Our nemesis the wind has a lot to say.

  • No matter it still helped , and I have not read it before :-)

  • You can still keep posting vids inspite of the audio quality.

It's not terrible just not what it could be. I'm sure you'll get it worked out.
