Austria and Switzerland aren't part of the same monarchy/parliament . Like I said, some Americans don't fully understand the difference between the UK and England - the fact that you share a government, taxation etc, confuses our concept of "independence". Not trying to offend anyone, just explaining why those misconceptions exist, mostly it's ignorance, but also a cultural difference in our perception of government - which compounds the ignorance I guess.

alright, ignorant American here... I'm going to assume you have some form of Glasgow accent? Regardless, it is the one of the most wonderful things I've ever heard. (PS I know the difference between Scotland and England... and I'll tell you why Americans get it all so wrong - geographically speaking you are a small island - and the difference between England and the UK is a point of some vague confusion for some Americans - believe it or not).
