Alan Grayson is full of shit. He pretends to talk about the constitution when he tries to audit the fed, but what authority does the constitution give the federal government to mandate private citizens to enter in private contracts? what authority in the constitution gives the federal government the power to use public money to cure private responsibility issues?
He's just another partisan politician who wants to give things away to get re-elected and only mentions to constitution expediently

Or have some sort of United States system. What matters is for serious disease health care is free at the point of delivery. How the USA gets to that is immaterial, and maybe the USA will come up with a better system. I wouldn't put it past them. What's needed is a system that replaces this legalised murder.

American health care should mirror the Canadian health care system, if we can't even pass public health INSURANCE, I doubt we can talk about "a strong public option".

...And if you look at Reid's bill you can see that people still get to wait a year before their pre-existing conditions are covered for treatment. No real change there. The Bill is just a bailout for the Auto-unions, oh and the State of North Dakota, where americans will now be funding Medicare for the entire state.
