the way holly hunter plays this song is JUST PERFECT. the speed, the emotion, everything is beautiful. i think this movie is one of the most underrated pieces of art, jane campion is a genius!

Not the most beautiful piece of the movie - but still one of the most beautiful pieces ever composed!
A lot of "piano experts" run Holly Hunter's play down: "too fast, cack-handet, no talent." -- Whew!
I am a pianist, playing since 20 years - and I assert: She deserves esteem! Ms Hunter had only a few weeks to study these pieces, particularly she isn't a professional pianist. But hats off, she aces it!
(By the way: Look at her face, her eyes in this scene! I love her expression at 1:02.)

You´re right...How can exist things so perfect and beautiful, how can people create things like this, when this world is turning fooler and madder now?! It´s like they were two diferent realities...It just don´t seem the same world.
