از نظر حقوقي بحرين جزء خاك ايران محسوب ميشد. اما شاه كه خود را بي نياز از مشاوره با صاحب نظران ميدانست و فكر ميكرد نابغه سياست خارجي و ديپلماسي است، سعي كرد بحرين و جزاير سه گانه را به هم مربوط كند. يعني در يك معامله با انگليسيها در قبال اعطاي استقلال به بحرين، حق ايران بر جزاير سه گانه را تثبيت نمايد. اما در عمل انگليس كلاه بزرگي بر سر شاه گذاشتند.
در آن زمان هنوز كشورهاي عربي قدرت نداشتندو شاه به راحتي ميتوانست حق ايران را از آنها مطالبه نمايد. امير دبي در ديدار با شاه ميگويد: «من مطمئنم كه اعليحضرت هرگز تصور تحت فشار قرار دادن كشور ضعيفي مثل ما را هم نميكنند. اما شما هر چه صلاح ميدانيد انجام بدهيد، كاملا در اختيار شما هستيم. » (خاطرات، پنجشنبه، 10 مهر) و يا: «ما همه چاكران وفادار اعليحضرت فارس هستيم. ما را راهنمايي كنيد» (شنبه، 10 خرداد 1349)
اما شاه از اين فرصت استفاده نكرد و ترجيح داد منافع ملي را فداي طرح انگلستان نمايد.
شاه از بيم اينكه مردم ايران او را وطنفروش بخوانند، استقلال بحرين را منوط به نظر مردم بحرين نمود و اين عمل در تاريخ ايران سابقه نداشت. حتي علم نيز به سفير انگليس در مورد اين راه حل اعتراض ميكند و ميگويد" ما هيچ گاه نميتوانيم چنين پيشنهادي را تصويب و در برابر ملت ايران توجيه كنيم. "(سه شنبه 21مرداد1348) جالب اينكه شاه نيز توجه خطر نظرخواهي در مورد استقلال بحرين ميباشد و به علم ميگويد: «به سفير تكرار كن كه اگر من پيشنهادش را بپذيرم مرتكب خودكشي شدهام. اگر اين خودكشي در راه حفظ منافع ملت ايران بود، چندان اهميتي به آن نميدادم ولي به عقيده من اين طرح خيانت به منافع ملي است، بدين جهت نميتوانم آن را بپذيرم». (دوشنبه 21 مرداد1348)
اما در نهايت شاه تسليم فشار انگليس ميگردد. شاه حاضر نبود هيچ اعتراضي را در مورد بحرين بشنود و در جواب اعتراضاتي كه به او ميشد به صراحت گفته بود: « اين بحث و جدالها در شأن من نيست»(خاطرات شنبه، 15 فروردين 1349)
شوروي به دليل رقابت با انگليس نسبت به جدا شدن بحرين از خاك ايران اعتراض نمود! ( 17 فروردين 1349)اما ايران خود اعتراضي به اين مساله نداشت و يكساعت پس از اعلام استقلال بحرين، ايران اين كشور را به رسميت شناخت. اعلام خبر استقلال بحرين از راديو ايران به قدري مضحك پخش شد كه علم ميگويد: « گوينده خبر چنان با افتخار و غرور آن را خواند كه گويي هم اكنون بحرين را فتح كردهايم. »( سه شنبه، 17 ارديبهشت 1349) خاطرات اسدالله علم

Bahrain will have better future in persian world than arab world. They just need look to their leading arab countries like Saudi Arabia or Egypt. These countries are just shithole and full of west puppets with no words to say in today technologies like space, nuchear technology, stem cells, Auto indusry, defense industry and etc.

As I previously mentioned, Sheikh Isa ibn Sulman Al Khalifah ruled Bahrain from 1961 until 1999, and as we all know, no part of Iran had her own ruler! Im a nationalist myself but am against chauvinism! Do us a favour and purchase a book on history of Bahrain or at least buy an Atlas. Iran claimed the ownership of Bahrain; please try to grasp that!
