@twiztiDchevy Go with the LS3 with a T-56 Tremec trans for the 240. Its a pretty easy conversion as far as conversions go and bone stock will run low 12's with the right suspension and wheel adjustments/changes needed. Ours runs 10's looks good and cost around $12K to build with cost of car. Once the snow melts and I get a fricken cam corder videos will be made!!!

I put in the matching Ford T5 five speed with a 7.5" rear end out of early 90s T-bird/Cougar.

just wondering, how would a v8 miata handle in general?

add about 240 lbs to tthe total weight. the car is balanced about 52 - 48 front to back. the unibody is stiff and the suspension and brakes have been upgraded to match. it handles well and is a blast to drive.
