don't get me wrong. i love this album. especially after hearing the the smile sessions and learning all the stuff that was going on for them at this at the time. but really i don't get why the other beach boys thought that SMiLe was so weird and then came out with something way weirder. this is one of the oddest albums ever, and compared to what i've heard on the extremely accessible smile sessions, this is quite a lot like what one of them said. "a bunt instead of a home run"

For me, the worst of The BBs is worse than the worst of The Bs. However I feel the best of The BBs is better than the best of The Bs. Overall, in terms of consistency the Beatles were a 'better' band. I just prefer listening to the Beach Boys. :)
