@lukuntri To make it simple, the reeds can produce some different types of sounds. Some techniques (as reeds in a box, or ventilating a reed) can produce others sounds. Some are 'like a horn,', 'like a flute', etc.

The numerotation is based on organ nomenclatura, following the number of 'feet' a pipe measures.

J'aime bien les tonalités sur le Grand-orgue!

En vrai, le Grand Orgue (appelé 'Grand jeu' sur les harmoniums) est assez impressionnant, de par sa puissance. Dans les semaines à venir, je vais nettoyer les différents jeux d'anches pour éviter les 'grésillements' des registres aigus.

plz. let me know if the reeds are still made in the old style. in europe.. i hope they are made of brass. i want to purchase old reeds, especially germanreed

Hello. In fact, numbers of harmonium manufacturers (Mustel, debain, Alexandre, even Estey for the reed-organs, etc) made ones with a pedal-keyboard. On old harmoniums, you have an arm on the side of the instrument : someone could pump for you while you were playing ! On others harmoniums, you can find an electric air system that provides air enough to the keyboards and the pedal-keyboard. I played it once, and will discpver one other next week! I'll put a video, and some photo's on the blog :)
