So - It's been a while since I threw up any new stuff on my profile and thought it would be a good idea to do it with the fresh World in Conflict MP BETA (avalible until end of June.
Quick conclusion of the playability - on my rig, which isn't too hot, I got a extremely smooth FPS using Low (not lowest) visual settings, kicking around 50-80FPS which is terrific. But at the really interesting settings it wasn't quite that effective. But what to expect? Sitting around a year old mainstream machine with a brand new game ain't gonna be a success if looking to really kick back some nice visuals along with excellent framerate.
The gameplay is pretty much identical to the older Ground Control 2 game developed by the same author. It's your team against a variety of different opponents trying to take control of as many tactical points as possible on the map. Sounds basic, and it's become basic the later years but there's a few new features to keep things fresh(er):
* Tactical Aid - you achieve points while your forces is attacking, no matter if your forces die or killing the enemy they still bring in tactical aid points for your disposal which allows you to call it special aids depending on how many points you've gathered. Everything from Light Artillery and Paradrops to Anti-Air, Napalm-strikes and tactical nukes is awaiting your pinpointing on the map.
That's the most fresh feature in the game, but ofcourse there's other stuff to it - such a classes which you choose in the start of the game. Each class has a ability to call in a specific type of unit cheaper than the other classes and have access to more advanced forces in that class. The Airforce Class for example has very cheap and extremely effective helicopters while they can't call in the Heavy Tanks and all the ground-units is really expensive.
Check out this BETA while there's still time and keys - I got it from www.gamespot.com over a night with pending downloading speed from 110kb/s to 300kb/s using their new Download Manager.
Rig;
PSU: 530W Hiper w/modular cables
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3700+ (2250mhz, slightly damaged from unsuccesful overclocking)
Video Card: Gigabyte nVidia GeForce 7600GT, 256mb, 128-bit GDDR-3. (PCI-E)
RAM: 1024mb DDR400mhz
Mobo: nForce-4 GA-K8NF-9, Socket 939
Audio Card: Creative SoundsBlaster X-fi Xtreme Gamer (using CMSS-3D, 100% Crystalizer in the video, no direct extra audio technology is supported by the game at this stage)
HDD: 200GB 7200RPM - IDE-based - unspecific model.
This game doesn't crave that much of an ultimate rig to play smooth using High Settings in DX9 - but my rig just couldn't run it properly. I would recommend using a video-card supporting DX10 (excluding the budget variants) and at least a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ along with 2048mb of memory and there would be no chance it wouldn't run absolutley perfect using either DX9 or DX10 visual processing.
Notice: When I do these kind of videos, I'm not showing off any kind of "skill" in any of these games. I just want to give the idea of how these games will be able to run according to my current experience-level and current hardware.
- If you're looking to see a game on my profile then just send me a note, or if you're having questions about your machine and I'll see if I can help.
